Sharing sepia-toned memories and heartwarming anecdotes from a friendship that spans over four decades is a special jodi fans haven’t had enough of!

Recreating their magic from films like Dostana, Bombay to Goa, Naseeb, Kaala Patthar and Shaan, Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha spill the beans on their friendship on Zee TV's chat show celebrating star friendships, Vivo Smartphone presents Yaaron Ki Baraat co-powered by  Amazon.in and Red Label.

Reminiscing their old shoot days with limited technology, Shatrughan and Amitabh shared that the actors would do their own stunts. They have, apparently, jumped off cliffs and buildings, done cartwheels and tumbles to pull off their own action sequences.

There was no concept of stunt men and body doubles and the actors were supposed to fight the villains and goons on their own. Rather unlike today, even the safety measures were limited and there were no harnesses and cushioned pads. In the process, both the actors have got punched in the face and faced severe injuries.

On being prodded by host Sajid Khan as to why did they not refuse to do some of these risky stunts, Amitabh replied, ‘We could not. It was the fear of being thrown out of the movie that made us do all the daredevil stunts’! Shatrughan went onto recount an incident where while shooting for a sequence in front of hundreds of onlookers, he flung up a dafli and after some 200 flips mid-air, it landed straight on his head with a massive thud.

However, as the hero’s image is one of a rugged man, he pretended to be completely nonchalant about it in front of the audience but within seconds went running inside, asking for an ice pack!

While the two had a good chuckle over these memories, hosts Sajid and Riteish had the superstars play fun games that tested their compatibility as friends, asked them questions that brought out their mischievous sides and even had them interacting with some of their biggest fans.

The fun-filled chat show is the first-of-its-kind on television that will feature celebrity best friends week-on-week. This 10 week festiva dhamaka will have the hottest celebrities spill the beans on each other and reveal several unknown facets about their friendship.

What better way to start it than to bring on the original Dostana icons - Big B and Shotgun! With the most exciting coup in store for every film buff, viewers are urged to set a reminder to watch the show's Grand Premiere of ‘Ýaaron Ki Baraat’ on Saturday, 8th October at 8 PM on Zee TV.

While reminiscing and chuckling over some of their memories, Big B shared that the fans sometimes forget that the stars are not what they portray on-screen. Amitabh was known as the angry young man of Indian cinema who could beat up villains and fight goons single-handedly and this image followed him everywhere he went. He went on to share an anecdote, where he was once sitting in his car stuck in a traffic jam. A passerby who recognized him immediately stopped and asked him ‘Aren’t  you Amitabh Bachchan? Why don’t you just get off the car and punch two three people? That will automatically clear the jam!’  Shatrughan further added that it is the media who has labelled them as superstar and megastar and that both of them are very normal, down to earth people in real life. They might be seen bashing up people in films but in reality they have always been peace-loving, fun-loving people. Hosts Sajid and Riteish had the superstars play fun games that tested their compatibility as friends, asked them questions that brought out their mischievous sides and even had them interacting with some of their biggest fans.

At the shoot of the Grand Premiere, the legendary duo made a grand entry on the show to their own iconic song ‘Salaamat rahe dostana humara’, sending the studio audience into a frenzy. Host Sajid Khan expressed his nervousness at the prospect of interviewing the duo to which Shatrughan jokingly replied with his trademark style ‘Khamosh’, leaving the audience in splits!

Zee TV's Yaaron Ki Baraat will see Shatrughan returning to television after 15 long years!  Amitabh and Shatrughan were delighted to be a part of the chat show to talk about how their friendship has matured over the years. On a lighter note, Big B revealed that history of another kind was also created at the shoot of the Grand Premiere of Yaaron Ki Baraat as it was the first time in all the years that they have known each other, Shatru had landed up 40 minutes prior to him. Bachchan reveals, "Today it’s the first time that Shatru has reached before me!”

The conversation that followed had the two actors reminisce about the time they became friends in the course of their struggling days in the industry. While both had a good chuckle over these memories, hosts Sajid and Riteish had the superstars play fun games that tested their compatibility as friends, asked them questions that brought out their mischievous sides and even had them interactimg with some of their biggest fans. Sajid said, “I may have interviewed many celebrities in the course of my hosting career but it’s a completely different ballgame to chat with formidable personalities like Bachchan Saab and Shatru Ji. To be honest, I was very nervous. But the two of them were such sports and very forthcoming about their friendship. Their conversation took us all to the golden era that we have only watched in the movies and revealed so many things that we didn’t know about them.”

Riteish added, “It was a fan boy moment for me to sit in front of the two living legends whom we’ve grown up idolizing. They put us at ease immediately with extremely endearing memories of their friendship. This is truly the  most exciting coup to have as our very first guests on our show as both were last seen together in 1981 in the film Dostana. This is the very first time they have appeared together on a TV show to speak about their friendship and spoken so candidly.”
